मित्र, आप अमीरों की आज़ादी छीनकर गरीबों को आज़ाद नहीं कर सकते। और जिसे बिना मेहनत किए कुछ मिलता है, उसके लिए किसी और को बिना कुछ पाए मेहनत करनी पड़ती है। सरकार किसी को भी वह चीज़ नहीं दे सकती जो उसने पहले किसी और से न छीनी हो। और जब आधे लोगों को यह लगने लगे कि उन्हें काम करने की ज़रूरत नहीं क्योंकि बाकी आधा हिस्सा उनका ख्याल रखेगा, और जब बाकी आधे लोगों को यह लगने लगे कि मेहनत करने का कोई फायदा नहीं क्योंकि कोई और उनकी मेहनत की कमाई ले जाएगा, तो प्रिय मित्र, समझ लीजिए कि किसी भी राष्ट्र का अंत बस यहीं से शुरू होता है।

The government can't give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody. And when half of the people get the idea they don't have to work because the other half's going to take care of them, and when the other half get the idea it does no good to work because somebody's going to get what I work for. That, dear friend, is about the end of any nation.
