आजकल हर चीज़ बहुत आसान हो गई है और यह बहुत अच्छा होता अगर लोग फिर से सिनेमाघरों में जाना शुरू कर देते। और यह सब मेरी पीढ़ी के लोगों की वजह से है। कई मायनों में यह उन्हीं की गलती है, उन लोगों की जो 40 साल से ऊपर के हैं। उन्हीं की वजह से आज सिर्फ रोबोट्स और खूबसूरत वैम्पायर्स पर फिल्में बन रही हैं। यह अजीब बात है कि सारे वैम्पायर्स खूबसूरत होते हैं।

Everything is very convenient now and it would be real nice if somehow people started going back to the movie theater. And it's people of my generation. It's their fault in a lot of ways, people over 40. It's their fault that the only movies are about robots and beautiful vampires. It's wild, all vampires are beautiful.

Television is making, there was in independent film renaissance late '80s through the mid-90's. It was an amazing time. Television is doing that right now. So that's why everybody wants to do it. I mean if you're writing stuff like, you know, Fargo, or True Detective, or any of these things that are on, Breaking Bad, there are no rules in television.

But if that's the benchmark then I thought well young people who want to be filmmakers, or musicians, or whatever are screwed. But maybe they're not because what they're doing is they're creating their own thing.

Directing takes a good chunk of your life out. It's a very hard thing. As an actor, you go in for a couple of months and do your job, and then you move onto another one. As a director, it's with you for quite some time and you're responsible for the entire thing, whether the results are good or bad, or whether people throw darts at you or put you on a pedestal.
