That's who Jesus Christ is. He became the final Priest and the final Sacrifice. Sinless, he did not offer sacrifices for himself. Immortal, he never has to be replaced. Human, he could bear human sins. Therefore he did not offer sacrifices for himself; he offered himself as the final sacrifice. There will never be the need for another. There is one mediator between us and God. One priest. We need no other. Oh, how happy are those who draw near to God through Christ alone.

Sin is what you do when your heart is not satisfied with God. No one sins out of duty. We sin because it holds out some promise of happiness. That promise enslaves us until we believe that God is more to be desired than life itself (Psalm 63:3). Which means that the power of sin's promise is broken by the power of God's.

If gratitude is not rooted in the beauty of God before the gift, it is probably disguised idolatry. May God grant us a heart to delight in him for who he is so that all our gratitude for his gifts will be the echo of our joy in the excellency of the Giver!

'Worship' is the term we use to cover all the acts of the heart and mind and body that intentionally express the infinite worth of God. This is what we were created for, as God says in Isaiah 43:7, Everyone who is called by my name, and whom I have created for my glory. That means that we were all created for the purpose of expressing the infinite worth of God's glory. We were created to worship.

There is no other way the world is going to see the supreme glory of Christ today, except that we break free from the Disneyland of America and begin to live lifestyles of missionary sacrifice that looks to the world like our treasure is in heaven and not on the earth.

Therefore bread was created for the glory of Christ. Hunger and thirst were created for the glory of Christ. And fasting was created for the glory of Christ. Which means that bread magnifies Christ in two ways: by being eaten with gratitude for his goodness, and by being forfeited out of hunger for God himself. When we eat, we taste the emblem of our heavenly food—the Bread of Life. And when we fast we say, “I love the Reality above the emblem.” In the heart of the saint both eating and fasting are worship. Both magnify Christ.

The highest act of love is the giving of the best gift, and, if necessary, at the greatest cost, to the least deserving. That's what God did. At the loss of His Son's life to the totally undeserving, God gave the best gift - the display of the glory of Christ who is the image of God.

Love is the overflow of joy in God! It is not duty for duty's sake, or right for right's sake. It is not a resolute abandoning of one's own good with a view solely to the good of the other person. It is first a deeply satisfying experience of the fullness of God's grace, and then a doubly satisfying experience of sharing that grace with another person.

There is a warning. The path of God-exalting joy will cost you your life. Jesus said, “Whoever loses his life for my sake and the gospel’s will save it.” In other words, it is better to lose your life than to waste it. If you live gladly to make others glad in God, your life will be hard, your risks will be high, and your joy will be full. This is not a book about how to avoid a wounded life, but how to avoid a wasted life. Some of you will die in the service of Christ. That will not be a tragedy. Treasuring life above Christ is a tragedy.

God's greatest interest is to glorify the wealth of His grace by making sinners happy in Him.

If you want to be a conduit for God's grace, you don't have to be lined with gold. Copper will do.

Husbands are not Christ. But they are called to be like him. And the specific point of likeness is the husband's readiness to suffer for his wife's good without threatening or abusing her. This includes suffering to protect her from any outside forces that would harm her, as well as suffering disappointments of abuses even from her. This kind of love is possible because Christ died for both husband and wife. Their sins are forgiven. Neither needs to make the other suffer for sins. Christ has borne that suffering. Now as two sinful and forgiven people we can return good for evil.

Forgiveness costs us nothing. All our costly obedience is the fruit, not the root, of being forgiven. That's why we call it grace.

The formation of the life of a person in the womb is the work of God, and it is not merely a mechanical process but a work on the analogy of weaving or knitting: "Thou didst knit me together in my mother's womb" (psalm 139:13). The life of the unborn is the knitting of God, and what He is knitting is a human being in His own image, unlike any other creature in the universe... The destruction of conceived human life - whether embryonic, fetal, or viable - is an assault on the unique person-forming work of God.

When I pray for revival I pray first for the most radical thing: The utter devotion and allegiance of your hearts to Christ. That you would love Him so deeply and long for Him so passionately that His coming would be your great hope, and death would be gain, and life would be for Christ and His kingdom.

The call of God creates sight in us. It's the work of God in our hearts to awaken us before his word.

People are not prepared or able to rejoice in suffering unless they experience a massive biblical revolution of how they think and feel about the meaning of life. Human nature and American culture make it impossible to rejoice in suffering. This is a miracle in the human soul wrought by God through His Word.

This assumes that the glory of Christ is our highest treasure, not health, wealth, family or even life. So preaching must continually show not that Jesus is the means to prosperity but that he is better than prosperity.

Without extended, concentrated prayer, the ministry of the Word withers. And when the ministry of the Word declines, faith (Rom. 10:17; Gal. 3:2, 5) and holiness (John 17:17) decline. Activity may continue, but life and power and fruitfulness fade away. Therefore, whatever opposes prayer opposes the whole work of ministry.

What is sin? It is the glory of God not honored. The holiness of God not reverenced. The greatness of God not admired. The power of God not praised. The truth of God not sought. The wisdom of God not esteemed. The beauty of God not treasured. The goodness of God not savored. The faithfulness of God not trusted. The commandments of God not obeyed. The justice of God not respected. The wrath of God not feared. The grace of God not cherished. The presence of God not prized. The person of God not loved. That is sin.

Life is not a straight line leading from one blessing to the next and then finally to heaven. Life is a winding and troubled road. Switchback after switchback. And the point of biblical stories like Joseph and Job and Esther and Ruth is to help us feel in our bones (not just know in our heads) that God is for us in all these strange turns. God is not just showing up after the trouble and cleaning it up. He is plotting the course and managing the troubles with far-reaching purposes for our good and for the glory of Jesus Christ.

The inner essence of worship is cherishing Christ as gain - indeed as more gain than all that life can offer - family, career, retirement, fame, food, friends. The essence of worship is experiencing Christ as gain. Or to use words that we love to use around here: it is savoring Christ, treasuring Christ, being satisfied with Christ.

No, heart, I will not exalt myself with anxiety. I will humble myself in peace and joy as I trust this precious and great promise of God - He cares for me.'

If you don't feel strong desires for the manifestation of the glory of God, it is not because you have drunk deeply and are satisfied. It is because you have nibbled so long at the table of the world. Your soul is stuffed with small things, and there is no room for the great.

God has made us to be conduits of his grace. The danger is in thinking the conduit should be lined with gold. It shouldn't. Copper will do.

Life is precarious, and life is precious. Don't presume you will have it tomorrow, and don't waste it today.

अवसाद (डप्रेशन) से जूझने वाला हर मसीही अपनी उम्मीद को साफ-सुथरा बनाए रखने के लिए संघर्ष करता है। उनकी आशा का केंद्र—यीशु मसीह—में कोई कमी नहीं है, वह बिल्कुल सही हैं। लेकिन संघर्षरत मसीही की आँखों के सामने बीमारी, दर्द, जीवन के दबाव और शैतान के तीरों के कारण अपनी उस उम्मीद का जो साफ दृष्य होना चाहिए, वह धुंधला हो जाता है... हर तरह की निराशा और अवसाद हमारी उम्मीद के धुंधला जाने से जुड़ी होती है। ऐसे में हमें उन बादलों को हटाना होगा और यह साफ-साफ देखने के लिए पागलों की तरह संघर्ष करना होगा कि मसीह हमारे लिए कितने अनमोल हैं।

Every Christian who struggles with depression struggles to keep their hope clear. There is nothing wrong with the object of their hope - Jesus Christ is not defective in any way whatsoever. But the view from the struggling Christian's heart of their objective hope could be obscured by disease and pain, the pressures of life, and by Satanic fiery darts shot against them... All discouragement and depression is related to the obscuring of our hope, and we need to get those clouds out of the way and fight like crazy to see clearly how precious Christ is.

जब इंसान के दिल से नर्क की सच्चाई का अहसास खत्म हो जाता है, तब ईश्वरीय संदेश कोई 'खुशखबरी' न रहकर महज़ एक 'खबर' बनकर रह जाता है।

When the heart no longer feels the truth of hell, the gospel passes from good news to simply news

पति-पत्नी, यह बात अच्छी तरह समझ लें कि विवाह में आप दोनों एक शरीर बन चुके हैं। यदि आप अपने जीवनसाथी की कीमत पर केवल अपने निजी सुख के लिए जीते हैं, तो आप अपने ही खिलाफ जी रहे हैं और अपने आनंद को नष्ट कर रहे हैं। लेकिन यदि आप अपने जीवनसाथी की पवित्र खुशी के लिए अपना पूरा दिल समर्पित कर देते हैं, तो असल में आप अपनी ही खुशी के लिए जी रहे होते हैं और एक ऐसा विवाह बनाते हैं जो मसीह और उनकी कलीसिया के प्रेम का प्रतिबिंब हो।

Husbands and wives, recognize that in marriage you have become one flesh. If you live for your private pleasure at the expense of your spouse, you are living against yourself and destroying your joy. But if you devote yourself with all your heart to the holy joy of your spouse, you will also be living for your joy and making a marriage after the image of Christ and His church.

अंधेरा छा जाता है। ऐसे में भविष्य बिल्कुल धुंधला नजर आता है। हार मानकर पीछे हट जाने का मन बहुत करता है। लेकिन ऐसा बिल्कुल मत कीजिए। आप अकेले नहीं हैं, आपके जैसे और भी कई लोग इस राह पर रहे हैं... आप खुद से बहस करेंगे कि अब आगे बढ़ने का कोई रास्ता नहीं बचा है। लेकिन ईश्वर के साथ कुछ भी असंभव नहीं है। मुसीबतों के दलदल से बाहर निकलने के लिए उनके पास आपकी सोच से कहीं ज्यादा रस्सियाँ, सीढ़ियाँ और सुरंगें हैं। थोड़ा धैर्य रखिए। लगातार प्रार्थना कीजिए। उम्मीद बनाए रखिए।

Darkness comes. In the middle of it, the future looks blank. The temptation to quit is huge. Don't. You are in good company... You will argue with yourself that there is no way forward. But with God, nothing is impossible. He has more ropes and ladders and tunnels out of pits than you can conceive. Wait. Pray without ceasing. Hope.

The missionary question is not, 'Where are there unbelievers?' and then send a missionary there. There are unbelievers everywhere! The missionary question is, 'Where are there people's who don't have any Christians in them or don't have a church strong enough to do the neighbor evangelism that we can do if we just want to do it?' That's the missionary question.

So you can see what is happening in the New Testament. Worship is being significantly deinstitutionalized, delocalized, de-externalized. The whole thrust is being taken off of ceremony and seasons and places and forms and is being shifted to what is happening in the heart - not just on Sunday but every day and all the time in all of life.

विवाह का आश्चर्य मसीह के क्रूस के सुसमाचार के आश्चर्य से गहराई से जुड़ा हुआ है। और चूँकि क्रूस का संदेश इस दुनिया के स्वाभाविक इंसान को मूर्खतापूर्ण लगता है, इसलिए विवाह का वास्तविक अर्थ भी उसे नासमझी ही प्रतीत होता है।

The wonder of marriage is woven into the wonder of the gospel of the cross of Christ, and the message of the cross is foolishness to the natural man, and so the meaning of marriage is foolishness to the natural man.

ईश्वर से प्रेम करने का अर्थ यह नहीं है कि हम उनकी किसी ज़रूरत को पूरा करते हैं, बल्कि इसका अर्थ यह है कि हम उनमें आनंदित हों, उनकी महिमा और कृपा पर मुग्ध रहें, और इस धरती पर किसी भी अन्य चीज़ से बढ़कर उन्हें महत्व दें। बाकी सारे आदेश तो वे बातें हैं जिन्हें हम दिल से खुद-ब-खुद करने लगेंगे, यदि हमारा दिल वाकई ईश्वर की कृपा के आनंद में डूबा हुआ है और उसी में सुकून पाता है।

To love God does not mean to meet His needs, but rather to delight in Him and to be captivated by His glorious power and grace, and to value Him above all other things on earth. All the rest of the commandments are the kinds of things that we will do from our hearts, if our hearts are truly delighted with and resting in the glory of God's grace.

Spiritual leadership is knowing where God wants people to be and taking the initiative to get them there by God's means in reliance on God's power.

परमेश्वर आपके साथ कभी भी कुछ भी अच्छा करने से पीछे नहीं हटेंगे। वह लगातार आपके साथ भलाई करते रहेंगे। ऐसा नहीं है कि वे अपने बच्चों के साथ कभी अच्छा करते हैं और कभी बुरा। वे लगातार भलाई करते रहते हैं और हज़ारों-लाखों युग बीत जाने पर भी कभी भलाई करना बंद नहीं करेंगे। अगर हालात बुरे चल रहे हैं, तो इसका मतलब यह नहीं है कि परमेश्वर ने भलाई करना छोड़ दिया है। इसका अर्थ यह है कि वे आपके जीवन में और भी बड़ी भलाइयों को समेटने के लिए चीज़ों को व्यवस्थित कर रहे हैं, बशर्ते आप उनसे प्रेम करते रहें।

God will not turn away from doing you good. He will keep on doing good. He doesn't do good to His children sometimes and bad to them other times. He keeps on doing good and He never will stop doing good for ten thousand ages of ages. When things are going bad that does not mean God has stopped doing good. It means He is shifting things around to get them in place for more good, if you will go on loving Him.

Oh that God would help me waken in you a single passion for a single great reality that would unleash you, and set you free from small dreams, and send you, for the glory of Christ, into all the spheres of secular life and to all the peoples of the earth.

बिना किसी शिकायत के हर काम को पूरा कीजिए। क्यों? क्योंकि एक सर्वशक्तिमान ईश्वर आपके साथ है, जो हर परिस्थिति को मिलाकर आपके हित में ही काम कर रहा है।

Do all things without grumbling. Why? You have a sovereign God who is on your side, who works everything together for your good.

शैतान का मक़सद हमारी खुशी, हमारे भरोसे और ईश्वर में हमारे आनंद को नष्ट करना है, और दुनिया की नजरों में ईश्वर को मूल्यहीन दिखाना है। जब भी कोई इंसान दुनिया की खातिर ईश्वर का साथ छोड़ देता है, या जब दुनिया की कोई चीज़ छिन जाने पर वह ईश्वर से गुस्सा हो जाता है, तो वह अनजाने में दुनिया को ही मूल्यवान बता रहा होता है... और जब कोई इंसान दुनिया की चीज़ें छिन जाने के बावजूद ईश्वर का साथ नहीं छोड़ता और उनकी स्तुति करता है, तो वह ईश्वर के महत्व और उनकी महिमा को उजागर कर रहा होता है।

Satan's aim is to destroy our joy and trust and delight in God, and to make God look worthless in the world's eyes. Everytime someone forsakes God for the world, gets angry at God when part of the world is taken away from them, they highlight the world as valuable... and everytime someone stays with God, when the world is taken away, and praises God, they highlight the value and glory of God.

इतिहास का हर पल एक ही महान लक्ष्य की ओर बढ़ रहा है—पूरी दुनिया के लोगों द्वारा परमेश्वर और उसके पुत्र की प्रचंड और सच्ची आराधना। मिशन इसलिए है क्योंकि अभी आराधना नहीं है। मिशन से बढ़कर आराधना है, क्योंकि इंसानों से बढ़कर परमेश्वर है... जब यह युग समाप्त हो जाएगा और अनगिनत उद्धार पाए लोग परमेश्वर के सिंहासन के सामने अपने चेहरे के बल गिरेंगे, तब मिशन का अस्तित्व समाप्त हो जाएगा। यह तो बस कुछ समय की जरूरत है। लेकिन आराधना हमेशा-हमेशा बनी रहेगी।

All of history is moving toward one great goal, the white-hot worship of God and his Son among all the peoples of the earth. Missions exists because worship doesn't. Worship is ultimate, not missions, because God is ultimate, not man.... When this age is over, and the countless millions of the redeemed fall on their faces before the throne of God, missions will be no more. It is a temporary necessity. But worship abides forever.

Nothing makes God more supreme and more central in worship than when a people are utterly persuaded that nothing - not money or prestige or leisure or family or job or health or sports or toys or friends - nothing is going to bring satisfaction to their sinful, guilty, aching hearts besides God.

The task of all Christian scholarship—not just biblical studies—is to study reality as a manifestation of God’s glory, to speak and write about it with accuracy, and to savor the beauty of God in it, and to make it serve the good of man. It is an abdication of scholarship when Christians do academic work with little reference to God. If all the universe and everything in it exist by the design of an infinite, personal God, to make his manifold glory known and loved, then to treat any subject without reference to God’s glory is not scholarship but insurrection.

...we should all fortify ourselves against the dark hours of depression by cultivating a deep distrust of the certainties of despair. Despair is relentless in the certainties of its pessimism. But we have seen again and again, from our own experience and others', that absolute statements of hopelessness that we make in the dark are notoriously unreliable. Our dark certainties are not sureties.

मसीह उन पापियों को क्षमा करने के लिए नहीं मरे जो ईश्वर को देखने और महसूस करने से ज़्यादा किसी भी अन्य चीज़ को कीमती मानते हैं। और जो लोग स्वर्ग में तब भी खुश रह सकते हैं अगर वहाँ मसीह न हों, वे वास्तव में कभी स्वर्ग पहुँचेंगे ही नहीं। सुसमाचार लोगों को सिर्फ स्वर्ग पहुँचाने का जरिया नहीं है; यह लोगों को ईश्वर तक पहुँचाने का मार्ग है। यह ईश्वर में मिलने वाली अनंत आनंद के रास्ते की हर रुकावट को पार करने का जरिया है। अगर हम हर चीज़ से बढ़कर ईश्वर की चाह नहीं रखते, तो हमने सुसमाचार को वास्तव में अपनाया ही नहीं है।

Christ did not die to forgive sinners who go on treasuring anything above seeing and savoring God. And people who would be happy in heaven if Christ were not there, will not be there. The gospel is not a way to get people to heaven; it is a way to get people to God. It's a way of overcoming every obstacle to everlasting joy in God. If we don't want God above all things, we have not been converted by the gospel.

The suffering of sickness and the suffering of persecution have this in common: they are both intended by Satan for the destruction of our faith, and governed by God for the purifying of our faith... Christ sovereignly accomplishes His loving, purifying purpose, by overruling Satan's destructive attempts. Satan is always aiming to destroy our faith; but Christ magnifies His power in weakness.

Every experience in life is designed to magnify the cross of Christ.

Loving God with all our mind means that our thinking is wholly engaged to do all it can to awaken and express the heartfelt fullness of treasuring God above all things.

Whether sexual orientation can change or not, hearts can change and turn any sexual orientation into an occasion for the glory of Christ. Those with same-sex attraction glorify Christ through sexual abstinence and through the enrichment of significant Christ-exalting relationships in other ways.

We can say that true gratitude does not give rise to the debtor's ethic because it gives rise to faith in future grace. With true gratitude there is such a delight in the worth of God's past grace, that we are driven on to experience more and more of it in the future...it is done by transforming gratitude into faith as it turns from contemplating the pleasures of past grace and starts contemplating the promises of the future.

Treasuring life above Christ is a tragedy.

James says, "You desire and do not have; so you kill" (Jas. 4:2). We kill marriages and we kill unborn babies because they cut across our desires; they stand in the way of our unencumbered self-enhancement. And we live in a culture where self-enhancement and self-advancement is god. And if self-enhancement is god, then the One who is at work in the womb shaping a person in His own image is not God and the assault on His work is not sacrilegious, but obedience to the god of self.

You never outgrow your need to preach to yourself the gospel.

The infinite reservoir of future grace is flowing back through the present into the ever-growing pool of past grace. The inexhaustible reservoir is invisible except through the promises. But the ever-enlarging pool of past grace is visible; and God means for the certainty and beauty and depth to strengthen our faith in future grace.

May we catch enough of a vision of Christ that we will not be satisfied unless we know him more fully.

My take on tithing in America is that it's a middle-class way of robbing God. Tithing to the church and spending the rest on your family is not a Christian goal. It's a diversion. The real issue is: How shall we use God's trust fund-namely, all we have-for His glory? In a world with so much misery, what lifestyle should we call our people to live? What example are we setting?

Not to abide in Jesus’ love would mean that we stop believing that we are loved by Jesus. So abiding in his love means continuing to believe, moment by moment, that we are loved.

It is evil to justify killing (unborn babies) by the happy outcome of eternity for the one killed. This same justification could be used to justify killing one-year olds, or any heaven-bound believer for that matter. The Bible asks the question: "Shall we sin that grace may abound?" (Romans 6:1) And: "Shall we do evil that good may come?" (Romans 3:8). In both cases the answer is a resounding NO. It is presumption to step into God's place and try to make the assignments to heaven or to hell. Our duty is to obey God, not to play God.

Sleep is a daily reminder from God that we are not God. Once a day God sends us to bed like patients with a sickness. The sickness is a chronic tendency to think we are in control and that our work is indispensable. To cure us of this disease God turns us into helpless sacks of sand once a day.

A woman who fears the Lord will not run away from God to satisfy her longings and relieve her anxieties. She will wait for the Lord. She will hope in God. She will stay close to the heart of God and trust in his promises. The prospect of departing into the way of sin will be too fearful to pursue; and the benefits of abiding in the shadow of the Almighty too glorious to forsake.

True worship comes from people who are deeply emotional and who love deep and sound doctrine. Strong affections for God rooted in thrush are the bone and marrow of biblical worship.

परंतु आप जो कुछ भी करें, अपने जीवन के उस जुनून को खोज लें जो पूरी तरह परमेश्वर पर केंद्रित हो, मसीह की महिमा करने वाला हो और बाइबल से भरा हुआ हो; और उसे जीने का, उसके लिए जीने का और उसके लिए मर जाने का कोई न कोई तरीका जरूर ढूंढ लें। और तब आप एक ऐसा बदलाव लाएंगे जो हमेशा कायम रहेगा। आप अपना जीवन व्यर्थ नहीं जाने देंगे।

But whatever you do, find the God-centered, Christ-exalting, Bible-saturated passion of your life, and find your way to say it and live for it and die for it. And you will make a difference that lasts. You will not waste your life.

Nothing is inferior for being old, and nothing is valuable for being modern. This has freed me from the tyranny of novelty and opened for me the wisdom of the ages.

विश्वास इस सत्य पर टिका है कि परमेश्वर के साथ भविष्य, पाप के वादों से कहीं अधिक तृप्त करने वाला है। जहाँ इस सत्य को अपना लिया जाता है और परमेश्वर को सबसे बढ़कर प्रेम किया जाता है, वहाँ पाप की शक्ति टूट जाती है। पाप की शक्ति असल में धोखे की शक्ति है। पाप एक झूठे भविष्य का झांसा देकर हम पर हावी होता है। परीक्षा के समय पाप हमारे पास आकर कहता है: "परमेश्वर के संकरे मार्ग पर चलना कठिन और दुखों से भरा है, जबकि जो रास्ता मैं दिखा रहा हूँ, वह सुखद और संतोषजनक है।" पाप की ताकत इसी झूठ में छिपी है।

Faith stands or falls on the truth that the future with God is more satisfying than the one promised by sin. Where this truth is embraced and God is cherished above all, the power of sin is broken. The power of sin is the power of deceit. Sin has power through promising a false future. In temptation sin comes to us and says: "The future with God on his narrow way is hard and unhappy, but the way I promise is pleasant and satisfying." The power of sin is in the power of this lie.

Prayer is the open admission that without Christ we can do nothing. And prayer is the turning away from ourselves to God in the confidence that He will provide the help we need. Prayer humbles us as needy and exalts God as wealthy

The pursuit of joy in God is not optional. It is not an 'extra' that a person might grow into after he comes to faith. Until your heart has hit upon this pursuit your 'faith' cannot please God. It is not savng faith. Saving faith is the heartfelt conviction not only that Christ is reliable, but also that He is desirable.

Therefore, the first and most important job of a parent is to fall in love with the worship of God. You can't impart what you don't possess.

God created us to live with a single passion: to joyfully display his supreme excellence in all spheres of life. The wasted life is the life without this passion. God calls us to pray and think and dream and plan and work, not to be made much of, but to make much of him in every part of our lives.

All the different ways God has chosen to display his glory in creation and redemption seem to reach their culmination in the praises of his redeemed people. God governs the world with glory precisely that he might be admired, marvelled at, exalted and praised. The climax of his happiness is the delight he takes in the echoes of his excellence in the praises of the saints.

Why don't people ask us about our hope? The answer is probably that we look as if we hope in the same things they do. Our lives don't look like they are on the Calvary road, stripped down for sacrificial love, serving others with the sweet assurance that we don't need to be rewarded in this life.

कुल मिलाकर, रूथ की कहानी उन संकेतों में से एक है। इसे हमें यह प्रोत्साहन और आशा देने के लिए लिखा गया था कि हमारे जीवन के सभी उलझन भरे मोड़ किसी अच्छी दिशा में जा रहे हैं। वे किसी खड्ड में नहीं ले जाते। विश्वासियों के रूप में हमारे जीवन की हर असफलता के पीछे, ईश्वर हमारे आनंद की ही योजना बना रहे हैं।

Taken as a whole, the story of Ruth is one of those signs. It was written to give us encouragement and hope that all the perplexing turns in our lives are going somewhere good. They do not lead off a cliff. In all the setbacks of our lives as believers, God is plotting for our joy.

सुसमाचार यह खुशखबरी है कि कभी न ऊबने वाले, हमेशा तृप्त करने वाले मसीह का अनंत और बढ़ता हुआ आनंद हमें मुफ्त में और हमेशा के लिए मिल गया है, और यह सब यीशु मसीह के पापों को क्षमा करने वाले बलिदान और उम्मीद जगाने वाले पुनरुत्थान में विश्वास के माध्यम سے हुआ है।

The gospel is the good news that the everlasting and ever-increasing joy of the never-boring, ever-satisfying Christ is ours freely and eternally by faith in the sin-forgiving death and hope-giving resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The root cause of abortion is the failure to be satisfied in God as our supreme love. And, for all the great legal work that needs to be done to protect human life, the greatest work that needs to be done is to spread a passion - a satisfaction for the supremacy of God in all things. That's our calling.

According to the spirit of this age, the ultimate sin is no longer the failure to honor and thank God but the failure to esteem oneself. Self-abasement, not God-abasement, is the evil. And the cry of deliverance is not "O wretched man that I am, who will deliver me?" but "O worthy man that I am, would that I could only see it better"!

Don't wait for a feeling or love in order to share Christ with a stranger. You already love your heavenly Father, and you know that this stranger is created by Him, but separated from Him... so take those first steps in evangelism because you love God. We can be content with simplicity because the deepest most satisfying delights God gives us through creation are free gifts from nature and from loving relationships with people. After your basic needs are met, accumulated money begins to diminish your capacity for these pleasures rather than increase them. Buying things contributes absolutely nothing to the heart's capacity for joy.

आराधना परमेश्वर की महिमा और उनके मोल को ख़ुशी-ख़ुशी वापस उन्हीं की ओर प्रतिबिंबित करने का एक तरीका है। यह काम महज़ कर्तव्य समझकर नहीं किया जा सकता। यह तभी हो सकता है जब दिल से स्वतः ही प्रेम और भावनाएँ उमड़ने लगें।

Worship is a way of gladly reflecting back to God the radiance of his worth. This cannot be done by mere acts of duty. It can be done only when spontaneous affections arise in the heart.

Suffering in the path of Christian obedience, with joy - because the steadfast love of the Lord is better than life (Psalm 63:3) - is the clearest display of the worth of God in our lives. Therefore, faith-filled suffering is essential in this world for the most intense, authentic worship. When we are most satisfied with God in suffering, he will be most glorified in us in worship. Our problem is not styles of music. Our problem is styles of life. When we embrace more affliction for the worth of Christ, there will be more fruit in the worship of Christ.

Does Christ get a good reputation because of the way we live? Is the excellence of Christ displayed in our lives? That should matter to us, not whether we ourselves are praised.

विवाह का सबसे ऊंचा अर्थ और उसका परम उद्देश्य मसीह और उनकी कलीसिया के बीच के पवित्र रिश्ते को दुनिया के सामने प्रदर्शित करना है। विवाह इसी वजह से अस्तित्व में है। यदि आप विवाहित हैं, तो आप इसी कारण से विवाहित हैं। यदि आप विवाहित होने की उम्मीद रखते हैं, तो यही आपका सपना होना चाहिए।

The highest meaning and the most ultimate purpose of marriage is to put the covenant relationship of Christ and his church on display. That is why marriage exists. If you are married, that is why you are married. If you hope to be, that should be your dream.

You don’t have to know a lot of things for your life to make a lasting difference in the world. But you do have to know the few great things that matter, perhaps just one, and then be willing to live for them and die for them. The people that make a durable difference in the world are not the people who have mastered many things, but who have been mastered by one great thing.

From eternity to eternity, the beauty of God is pervasive and practical. Ask him to open the eyes of your heart (Ephesians 1:18). Give your life to this quest - seeing and savoring more and more of the happifying beauty of God.

Even on days when every cinder in our soul feels cold, if we crawl to the Word of God and cry out for ears to hear, the cold ashes will be lifted and the tiny spark of life will be fanned. For 'the law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul.'

The evil and suffering in this world are greater than any of us can comprehend. But evil and suffering are not ultimate. God is. Satan, the great lover of evil and suffering, is not sovereign. God is.

Obedience does not consist in paying God back and thus turning grace into a trade. Obedience comes from trusting in God for more grace - future grace - and thus magnifying the infinite resources of God's love and power.

A saving knowledge of Christ crucified and risen is not the mere result of right reasoning about historical facts. It is the result of spiritual illumination to see those facts for what they really are: a revelation of the truth and glory of God in the face of Christ-who is the same yesterday today and forever.

Marriage is not mainly about prospering economically; it is mainly about displaying the covenant-keepin g love between Christ and his church. Knowing Christ is more important than making a living. Treasuring Christ is more important than bearing children. Being united to Christ by faith is a greater source of marital success than perfect sex and double-income prosperity.

The deepest need that you and I have in weakness and adversity is not quick relief, but the well-grounded confidence that what is happening to us is part of the greatest purpose of God in the universe - the glorification of the grace and power of his Son - the grace and power that bore Him to the cross and kept him there until the work of love was done.

Fight for us, O God, that we not drift numb and blind and foolish into vain and empty excitements. Life is too short, too precious, too painful to waste on worldly bubbles that burst. Heaven is too great, hell is too horrible, eternity is too long that we should putter around on the porch of eternity.

यदि सत्य किसी को प्रेम में न डाल सके, तो वह असफल है।

If truth does not lead to falling in love, it fails.
