देवताओं का देवताओं से पहले, महापुरुषों का सामान्य मनुษ्यों से पहले, और मनुษ्यों में भी सबसे पहले अपने माता-पिता का आदर करें; लेकिन इन सबसे बढ़कर अपना खुद का आदर करें।

ہائے، کتنی سنگدل بات ہے کہ ہم گوشت کو اپنے ہی گوشت میں اتار لیں، دوسرے جسموں کو ٹھونس کر اپنے حریص جسموں کو موٹا کریں، اور ایک جاندار کی موت سے دوسرے کو پالیں! زمین جو کہ بہترین ماں ہے، اتنی فراوانی فراہم کرتی ہے پھر بھی کسی چیز سے تمہارا پیٹ نہیں بھرتا، اور تم سائیکلوپس کی طرح برتاؤ کرتے ہو، اپنے ظالم دانتوں سے افسوسناک زخم لگاتے ہو! تمہارے ان شیطانی اور پیٹو معدے کی بھوک کسی اور کی زندگی کو ختم کیے بغیر نہیں مٹ سکتی۔
